I am an advocate of Arts Award, having delivered 5,000 children and young people. Exploring how the arts can empower all CYP voices, adapting in SEND settings to ensure all can access and achieve.
I have been one of the artists involved the PHF SENsory Atelier programme, exploring & celebrating space for young people with SEND and working closely with partner schools, so that they can champion themselves through the arts.
I have experience working with the public and different groups as Associate Artists different galleries but I also have worked with many schools and young people across the Midlands.
What We Offer
My workshops explore empowerment, this starts with the space, thinking about how we move and change spaces.
I work with sculpture and looking at creating art that can be done individually and collaboratively.
I use materials like willow, paper, card to transforming everyday objects into sculptures.
I think it is very important to communicate with the teachers to create a workshop that not only works toward the schools aims and needs but one excites and challenges and celebrates creativity.
I have also a lot of experience in early years, where the child is the children take the led in decision making, from outdoor action painting to smaller sound sculpture.
Session will explore and focus on the ideas of mark making and how we can experiment with different ways of drawing. This is really flexible in terms of spaces as we can use rolls of paper on the wall and floor plus smaller papers for trays and wheel chairs. The activities will look at creating drawing machines using milk foamers and electric tooth brushes and old CD’s. These can be made on smaller papers if need be or a large roll. We will also explore how our bodies create marks by using egg crayons and drawing with canes. The session can be adapted for all needs and the work can be hung or displayed around the school.
