Submitting Activity to The City Classroom

Member activity is key to The City Classroom's success. It provides a comprehensive and collaborative programme. We ask all arts and cultural organisations to submit activity that meets our priorities and provides a high quality cultural education offer.

All activity submissions must be made via the form on the website and evidence how your project meets the current priorities and project criteria of The City Classroom.

Current priorities for activity include:

  • Partnerships with primary and SEN schools, plus alternative education, in Leicester and Leicestershire.
  • High quality creative arts activity in schools, co-delivered by artists, underpinned by Arts Council England's Quality Principles.
  • Promoting and delivering Arts Award and supporting Artsmark in schools.
  • Outcomes evaluation, data and evidence - making and sharing the case using collective impact studies and tools.

Each activity should deliver against two or more of the key criteria for The City Classroom:

  • Use of local cultural assets (people or places) to promote and deliver creative learning
  • Delivered in, and across, curriculum areas and or enrichment activity
  • Animates learning inside or outside of the classroom
  • Builds sustainable partnerships between arts, culture, business, schools and communities
  • All projects align with the Arts Council England Quality Principles.

The online submission form will request this information from you, it should be completed in full with as much detail as possible. The form will ask for the aims of your project, target ages, art forms, curriculum links, arts award delivery, method of evaluation plus a project summary for the online listing. This data will help us to report on and fairly represent high quality cultural education delivery in our area. Once you have completed the form it will be sent for approval by The City Classroom coordinator and where necessary the steering group.
